Hi, I am William, affectionately called WJ by my close friends.

I am portrait photographer in Groveland Florida. I don’t look at photography as a job, to me it’s an assignment in pursuit, and one of my greatest joys and passions. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and as the person behind the lens, It's important to capture every awakening moment, because they're fleeting and forgettable. It may take a year or more to forget them, but without a timeless, visual reminder, you can lose the feeling and never dig it up again. It is my goal, to capture images, that can bring you back to all the emotions and essence of unforgettable experiences.

Have you ever tried to articulate a very special moment, explaining how wonderful a point in time was, only to end up saying, “I guess you’d had to be there, to see it”. As a Portraiture Photographer, I capture the essence, personality, identity and attitude of  all my clients. Portraits are all about you and the ones you love. I love being able to give my clients special memories to look back on, whether it be moments of love, jubilee, excitement and sometimes even sadness because all of those components is a part of the storyline.

More About WJ

My passion for photography began, after my father passed in 1980. Looking through very old photos, I was only able to find, one family photo, with both my parents, my siblings and I. I must have been about 2 years old. Presently, I still have that photo in my photo album, because that is the only memory I have with us as a family. I am glad I did, being as though both my parents and two of my siblings are now deceased. I had no idea at the time, that thirty-five years later, I would be taking photos on the level that I am now, that was birthed out of my own missing experiences.

Growing up in the 80’s, my mom owned a Polaroid. This camera was the ultimate toy camera for any youth, until I was able to save up a few dollars, to purchase “any brand” Disposable Cameras. It was possible to take pictures anywhere, get them instantly printed, write on them, and then hang them somewhere special. Whether a guest at a birthday party, family gatherings, public events, or holidays, you could always find me with a camera in hand. Looking back at some of the images,  I was able to salvage, they had extremely depressive colors, and unattractive graininess I’ve ever seen. The images remind me of  trying to get good reception from the television, and only able to barely get a signal. If you were born in the 70’s and 80’s, you can probably relate. While some of the exposures may not have been the very best, it’s the fond memories that is so priceless. WJ Photography’s ambition, is to provide you with professional images, which can be proudly displayed in your home and look at for years to come.

When I moved for Florida in 2015, I really took the art of photography seriously. It was also when I purchased my first Canon DSLR camera. Compared to film and Polaroids, DSLR allowed me to take an unlimited number of photos of almost everything, anything I wanted. I could really see life, from behind the lens.  I went from just taking pictures, to taking great images that were breathtaking.  Before I knew it, I had fallen in love with the power that the camera had, and the beautiful images it allows me to produce.
