A little about the photographer
Hello, I am William, affectionately called WJ by many of my close friends. I am portrait photographer, that resides in Groveland Florida. I must say, being behind the lens, is one of my greatest joys and passions.Photography is an assignment, where I get to create a relationship and narrative between the camera, and the clients I serve.
Why you should be excited about your session
Your photo shoot, and anything that necessitates hiring a photographer, should be fun. I understand everyone has a unique personality, which is why I customize all of my sessions, that is tailored-made for my clients. I've photographed clients, at my home as well as my clients home, turning living space into an actual studios. I’ve also scouted the Florida region for its most beautiful and picturesque spots, that offers the best outdoor ambiance.

Have you ever tried to recall details from a very special moment in time, that wasn't captured, only to say, “ I guess you would have had to be there, in order to see it”. As the photographer behind the lens, it's important to capture every awakening moment, because they're fleeting and forgettable.

Portraits are all about you and the ones you love. It is my goal, to capture images, that can bring you back to all the emotions, and essence of unforgettable experiences. As a Portraiture Photographer, I aspire to capture the personality, identity and attitude of all my clients. I enjoy being able to give my clients special memories they can look back on, whether it be moments of love, jubilee, excitement and sometimes even sadness because all of those elements, is what makes a beautiful storyline.
A little more about WJ the Photographer
Growing up, my mom owned a Polaroid. This camera was the ultimate toy camera for any kid my age. It was achievable, to take pictures anywhere, get them instantly printed, write on them, and hang them on the wall next to your bed, if not throwing them in a personal album. Whether at birthday parties, family gatherings, or holidays, you could always find me with a polaroid camera in hand, flashing away. After I moved from the polaroid era, I then started to purchase disposable cameras. The ones you had to put in the shop, and wait 7-14 days to get them back.
I have been fortunate, and still have so many old photos I had taken in my archives. Looking back at some of the images , that ones I was able to salvage, they had extremely depressive colors, and unattractive graininess I’ve ever seen. At that time, all that mattered to me was pressing that button, and getting my image(s). Those images remind me of trying to get good reception from the box television, and barely getting a signal. If you were born in the 70’s and 80’s, this probably resonates. While the images may not have been the best, it’s the fond memories that's so priceless. I have images of so many individuals, that are no longer alive; however those image take me back to a point in time, where I can say "remember this or remember that"...
My Camera...My Work
I purchased my Olympus point and shoot camera in 2005. After a few years, I started to get into DSLR cameras. Compared to film and Polaroids, DSLR allowed me to take an unlimited number of photos of almost everything, anything I wanted. I could really see things come to life from behind the lens. I went from just taking pictures, to taking great images that were breathtaking. Before I knew it, I had fallen in love with the power that the camera had, and the beautiful images it allows me to produce.
WJ Photography’s ambition, is to provide you with professional images, which can be proudly displayed in your home and look at for years to come. Our portfolio consist of portraiture, family photography, professional head shots, beauty photography, graduation photography, lifestyle photography, couples photographs, engagement photography, wedding photography, maternity and child photography.
